Invest in good makeup brushes

Category: Make-up — Ella @ 7:50 pm

Makeup brushes should be part of your arsenal if you are really serious about looking beautiful and serious about makeup.

There are many makeup brushes out there in the market and for a person who is not very familiar with it, they may not know how what to get. But there’s a very simple tip for buying makeup brushes. Try to get bristles that are made from natural hair. Synthetic bristles don’t really perform well so don’t get any brushes made with synthetic bristles. There are many types of natural hair brushes, some are made with horse hair. But the best type of bristle you can get is one made with sable. It is significantly more expensive, but once you’ve used it you’ll know why sable brushes are the best ones for makeup.

Only the women who are keen on the selection of makeup to apply on their faces will be able to determine which suits them best. Normal people would often just pick out makeup kits depending on the brand or what they get from word of mouth but for others, there is the case of adhering towards the sensitivity of your skin.

There are a lot of brands that can really make you look good. However, you have to consider if there will be certain reactions that your skin may suddenly have on them. Perhaps it would be best if you could test them out first or get some medical advice on which elements present in makeup kits that will irritate your skin overall.

How to get Radiant Skin even with Dry Skin

Category: General,Make-up,Skin — Avatar @ 3:46 pm

For a radiant glow that gives you that perfect glow all day long, try starting by applying luminizing face primer that eliminates flaws and covers up blemishes. Follow-up with liquid or cream foundation to make the skin look drier and even eliminating the oily look. Blend them well, and do not forget the eyelids and the hairline to prevent those separation lines that gives an artificial look. Try to blend it to make it look natural and even. Follow up with pink-toned concealer under the eyes and a foundation shade concealer on spots that still show. Use bronzers to give you a glowing look similar to most stars like J-Lo who has the perfect bronze look. Apply shimmer and highlighting shades but with older women, try to avoid shimmer near the lines on the eyes. Use sheer translucent powder on the t-zone that leaves your cheeks looking dewy fresh. Dust powder across the eyelids using an eye shadow brush to prevent the eye makeup from running.

clarins.JPGFrom Clarins, the melting gel starts as a honey colored gel after you apply it that adheres to the contaminants on your skin (make-up, pollutantsa dnother cosmetics products). It then turns into a deep cleansing oil which after a while, turns into a cleansing milk as it transforms into a smooth lathering solution that washes away all residue on your face. May it be make-up or any other cosmetic product, it deep-cleans, nourishes and then washes away leaving smooth skin that is soft and plump.

Go Green, Fashion Wake-up

Category: Clothes,General,Information,Make-up,Skin — Ella @ 3:14 am

fashionCelebrities are sporting them so why shouldn’t you? Green fashion accessories abound and they are quite green and environmentally friendly. Most of the fashion trends of days gone by have been scorned and hated by green fellows for their sinister beginnings. They use exotic furs and skin products that have almost wiped out entire species. Most stars fall for the nostalgia of fur studded clothes that were the norm of days gone by. Those who choose to sport them are today hated and even subject to well, smear campaigns to dissuade their fashion statement. Green products are recyclable and were produced using green technologies. Whether from recycled goods, like the recent feature on CNN about fashion designers who use junk to make special fashion accessories. (more…)

A good foundation

Having the right foundation is a must when applying makeup. Not having the right foundation could ruin your entire makeup. There are two things to keep in mind when buying a foundation; your skin tone and skin type.
There are several forms of foundation depending with the function you want. To hide the acne spots and the dark circles, then Emulsion should be used. Cream based foundation is more suitable for those living in places with moderate climate. It is also good for dry skin as they contain enough oil. On the other hand, gel based foundation is better who lives in warm climates as it is lighter and gives more sheen. For all skin types, liquid foundation is one kind that is available. But it is not so effective in hiding the marks. For the natural look appearance but no marks on the skin, then Gel is what you need. For oily skin, Cakes or Sticks are the thing for you. It gives a day matt look and excellent in hiding marks.
Foundations are not harmful for the skin. In fact it is good not only to hide the scars and the marks, but protects the skin against pollutants and dirt as well. It also works as a sunscreen and balance the moisture levels of the skin.

Get a Full Pout a la Angelina Jolie

Whether you want to admit it or not, Angelina Jolie’s lips make you envious because let’s face it, most of us aren’t born with full, voluptuous pouts and so we try to do everything we can to get that look. Unfortunately, it can be a bit of a challenge and it doesn’t always work out. You either put too much stuff on and you end up looking like a clown, you don’t put enough on, or you just can’t seem to get your pucker to look full no matter what you try! So what’s the trick to getting super full lips without the injection?

STEP 1: STAIN
Go to your local drug store and buy a berry shade lip stain. Start by dabbing it on to your lips by blending it into the inside of your mouth, which is the soft part next to your teeth. Use your ring finger to do this and dab it gently to create a just-kissed look.

STEP 2: STAY INSIDE THE LINES
This is a great trick to help you stay inside the lines with your products as well as to help prevent smudging. Simply apply concealer around your top and bottom lip using a concealer wand.

STEP 3: DEFINE
This is where you concealer does the trick! Pat the concealer in with your finger to set it – this will help with the definition of the mouth as well as creating a fuller lip.

STEP 4: FINISH
Finish off the process by applying a clear, sparkly gloss to your lips. When the light reflects off them, they will appear larger. And that’s all there is to it! Now granted your lips will probably never look like Angelina Jolie’s, but at least you can be proud of your pucker!

How to get Radiant Skin even with Oily Skin

Category: General,Make-up,Skin — Avatar @ 3:50 pm

oilyskin.jpgUse primers to even out blotchy complexion and follow with a liquid foundation or tint which makes your face evenly toned. Apply only as needed and don’t overdo for it will run if applied too heavy. Use translucent powder and steer away from colored powders for they will streak on oily skin. For a natural glow, don’t apply powder to the tops of your cheekbones. Keep away from crème foundations for they smudge with oily skin as the day progresses. Sweep your cheekbones with some powdered shimmer with a fan brush to liven it up a bit. Carry blotching paper with you to soak up that oil as it accumulates so you can touch up and prevent blotching through the day.

Foundations Foundations.. Which to choose?

Category: Make-up,Quick fixes,Skin — Avatar @ 3:30 pm

foundations.jpgWell, that’s a good question for there are many products on the market that not only come in many brands but in many types. Crème, liquid, powder and mousse, so which do you choose? J-Lo, loves spray on or airbrush style foundations that allows a flawless look that can give you the look of a star. The stuff is quite hard to use and the best ones are the more expensive ones for they work best. There are cheaper brands such as those from Sally Hansen but expert reviews only give it two stars. It does take practice to use so best leave it to a makeup artist to do the applying. If you wish, you could buy a cheaper brand, practice with that then turn to the more expensive brands as your confidence grows in using it.
