No matter how well you take care of your skin, your skin will go through the natural process of dying making exfoliating necessary if you want to have youthful radiant skin all the time. Exfoliating makes your skin glow by sloughing off the dry dead cells, revealing the newer layer of skin underneath it.
There are several ways you can exfoliate your skin, using both mechanical and chemical methods. Obviously, for DIY exfoliation chemical peels are not something you should try.
Some products you can use to effectively exfoliate your skin include:
Facial scrubs – There are plenty of great facial scrubs you can use. However, stay away from facial scrubs that contain coarse particles because it can end up damaging your skin. Instead, stick to ones with finer beads and are known for being a gentle cleanser.
Sponges and washcloths – Exfoliating is not limited to the face and scrubbing away all that dead skin on your body is just as important. You can use any kind of sponge (with or without body scrubs) to do this. Just make sure that you hang your sponge in a place where it can dry because an eternally wet sponge will breed bacteria that can cause skin complications.
Make sure you also do not exfoliate too often and that you always follow up with a moisturizer to lock the moisture in.
